From Our PTO President     Dear Parents Spring has sprung!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break week!  Our children will be busy with many activities as we finish out the school year.  We have several field trips, grade level activities, kindergarten registration, and our Spring Philanthropy project during the month of April.  We encourage you to help make these events fun and special for your children by participating and volunteering. “Walk to Cure Diabetes” is our philanthropy project for the spring.  It is scheduled for Friday, April 11th.  Please check your child’s backpack for more information. Mark your calendars…Spring Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd.  There will be many new booth, a basket auction, good food, fellowhsip, and lots of fun. Please make plans for your family to attend.  We will also need lots of volunteers to make the booths and activities available, fun, and safe for our children.  Please sign-up to work a shift that afternoon.  Also, don’t forget to order your t-shirt!! ARTS COMMITTEE Help organize and set-up for Arts Gala Night in the Spring Aid Art Liaison with hanging of art by students and local artists Help promote PaceSetter and Art Creates Excellence programs FALL FESTIVAL Work with committee to help organize and plan festival held on school grounds Locate food vendors, moon jumps, and entertainment for event FUN FRIDAY Fundraiser held on the last Friday of each month Students are asked to bring $1 and will receive a special treat for the day Need volunteers to help organize event, pass out treats, and count money HOLIDAY DECORATION Help decorate front entrance for Fall, Christmas, Arts Gala Night, and Spring Work with local stores to help donate items HOSPITALITY Work with Committee to have gift baskets or donated items for Special Speakers and Guests Organize Teacher Birthday Party each month Help with preparation for Arts Gala Night LIBRARY BOOK FAIR Work with librarian to help coordinate both Fall and Spring Book Fairs Volunteers needed to help students in selecting books and collecting money for book sales during Fall Festival, Spring Fling, and school hours during the week of the event LIBRARY BOX TOPS Help in promoting and collecting Box Tops from students as a monthly fundraiser PHILANTHROPY Organize and promote a Fall and Spring philanthropic drive for the Students to participate in.  (Ex. Good Will Clothes Drive) SPRING FLING Work with Committee to help plan and organize event held on school grounds Find local food vendors, moon jumps, and entertainment for event Work with teachers and room moms to help with hand-made art from each class to by used at auction as well as organizing booths for each grade STUDENT RECOGNITION Help with committee to recognize and honor students for excellent attendance, scholastic achievements, and other awards as deemed necessary by staff and PTO TEACHER APPRECIATION Work with Committee to organize and host special teacher luncheons on a monthly basis Need parents willing to bake or send items for luncheons YEARBOOK PRODUCTION Work with Committee to assemble yearbook YEARBOOK PICTURES Help take pictures of classroom events throughout the school year YEARBOOK SALES Help with promotion and collection of money for yearbook Work with publisher to negotiate price
