Special Recognition

Reading and Writing Key Scale • A check indicates your child’s current level of achievement. • A box indicates the expected level of achievement by the end of kindergarten. Needs Improvement • * . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . At Risk (used only in 2nd grade) Grade 3, 4, and 5 Report cards for grade 3 will be sent home the week following each nine-week’s grading period. The report card should be signed by a parent and returned the following day. Letter and number grades will appear on the report card for grade 3. In Grade 3, explanation grades S (satisfactory) and U (unsatisfactory) will be used in Social Studies, Science and handwriting.  In Grades 4 and 5, explanation grades S (satisfactory), and U (unsatisfactory) will be used in Handwriting. Honor Rolls shall be determined at the end of each nine-week grading period The Madison County School District recognizes two types of honor rolls in Grades 3 – 5: • 1. The “A, B” honor roll shall be composed of all students with grades no lower than 85/B. • 2. The “All A” honor roll shall be composed of all students with grades no lower than 94/A. .
